Power Rankings – 2016 Week 4

Power Rankings 2016
Week 4

What came out of week 3 games?

1) Parity in the NFC this season
2) Teams are going to jockey for playoff positioning
3) Rankings 4 thru 8 are whisker apart of each other

Week 4 Power Rankings

#1 GTA All Stars
***Defending National Champs***
Reflected on this one for a bit but in the end…
It’s gonna take more than a 1 point loss to Ottawa to remove them from this position. These aren’t standings but rather rankings and yesterday they let one slip by them on the road. But the gap has quickly narrowed between them and the next 2 teams.
Week 3
LOSS 15-14 to Ottawa

#2 Sarnia Imperials
The Imps were off this weekend. They have a matchup in two weeks that could hurl them into first place in the rankings. Until then they will sit comfortably in first in the west and second in the league.
Week 3
BYE

#3 Ottawa Invaders
The Invaders drew first blood in the home and home with GTA. They bolstered their roster with some veteran signings last week and got it done a week after a tough road loss with a very short bench. They are moving up quickly again.
Week 3
WIN 15-14 over GTA

#4 Steel City Patriots
The Patriots had the week off and slipped a spot after Ottawa beat GTA and reestablished themselves as a championship contender.
Week 3
BYE Week

#5 Tri City Outlaws
Another close game and this time the Outlaws came out on top. They did it against one of the best defenses in the league. A solid team.
Week 3
WIN 14-13 (OT) over Sault

#6 Sault Steelers
Their defense played stout. Their offense showed a glimmer of hope. And they rise in the standings. Their defense will keep them in games this season.
Week 3
LOSS 14-13(OT) to Tri City

#7 Oakville Longhorns
They beat Sudbury at home with a last minute game saving drive. They did enough to win their second game in 3 years. Now go repeat that again next week and we will see where you end up in the rankings.
Week 2
WIN 26-21 over Sudbury

#8 Sudbury Spartans
A loss to Oakville sends you down in the rankings and with other teams rising up, you quickly end up in the league basement. You gotta win games you are supposed to win.
Week 3
LOSS 26-21 to Oakville

Power Rankings – 2016 Week 3

Power Rankings – Week #3

Week 2 Power Rankings

#1 GTA All Stars
***Defending National Champs***
Another week and another solid win.
The offence put up some good numbers and the defense tightened up.
Week 2
WIN GTA 37 – 7 over Oakville

#2 Sarnia Imperials
The Imps won on the road – and put up respectable numbers. Defense pitched a shutout. The week 5 game versus GTA is starting to look like the first marquee matchup of the season.
Week 2
WIN Sarnia 17-0 over Sault

#3 Steel City Patriots
The Patriots got it done at home and rightfully move up a spot. They split the home and home series and they established themselves as a legitimate contender.
Week 2
WIN SCP 16-0 over Ottawa

#4 Ottawa Invaders
The Invaders split the home and home with the Patriots. Not quite the same team as last season but still loads of talent.
Week 2
LOSS Ottawa 0-16 SCP

#5 Sudbury Spartans
The Spartans were able to comeback and win it in overtime. With only one game under their belts – have to sit and watch how they perform the next few weeks.
Week 2
WIN 21-14 (OT) over Tri City

#6 Tri City Outlaws
The Outlaws have had two tough losses on the road to open the season. This is a solid team that plays tough every week and is loaded with talent.
Week 2
LOSS Tri City 14-21(OT) Sudbury

#7 Oakville Longhorns
They opened the season with a home and home with the defending national champs. Tough part of their schedule is over.
Week 2
LOSS Oakville 7-37 GTA

#8 Sault Steelers
The Sault opened the season with a loss at home. Some offensive troubles plaguing this team early on. Defense performed better than expected.
Week 2
LOSS Sault 0-16 Sarnia

Power Rankings – 2016 Week 2

Power Rankings Week #2

It’s an overall look at the league during the season. Teams are going to rise and fall in these rankings on a weekly basis.

Week 2 Power Rankings

#1 GTA All Stars
***Defending National Champs***
They spent week 1 shaking off the “ring rust” (pun intended) against the Longhorns but they got the job done. They continue to occupy the number 1 spot in this list until someone beats them.
Week 1
WIN GTA 34 – 16 over Oakville

#2 Sarnia Imperials
In week 1 the Imps came out firing on all cylinders but Tri City closed the gap with a late surge in a penalty filled contest. They had the offence rolling and congrats to Pat Wright for his NFC record 109yard TD pass to Ryan Lounsbury
Week 1
WIN Sarnia 35-30 over Tri City

#3 Ottawa Invaders
The Invaders took care of business with a short bench in week 1 against the deepest roster in the NFC.
Solid effort by the Invaders at home
Week 1
WIN Ottawa 27-22 over SCP

#4 Steel City Patriots
They played tough against the Invaders on the road – sending a strong message that they are going to challenge each and every week this season.
Week 1
LOSS SCP 22 – 27 to Ottawa

#5 Tri City Outlaws
The Outlaws as expected are moving up in the standings after a solid performance in Sarnia. A strong 4th quarter comeback on the road had the Imps on their heels. Every week is a new challenge. And this team won’t back down.
Week 1
LOSS Tri City 30 – 35 to Sarnia

#6 Oakville Longhorns
This week they fall a few places – more a result of other teams keeping their games closer than the performance by the Horns. They are in tough this week with the second half of this home and home with GTA.
Week 1
LOSS Oakville 16 – 34 GTA

#7 Sudbury Spartans
They haven’t played yet in 2016 – so they will drop a spot this week until we see how they perform on the field. Rumor is that a few veteran signings this week have the team excited for their home opener June 4th. We will have to wait and see.
Week 1
BYE Week

#8 Sault Steelers
The Sault also sat out week 1 in a bye week. They will need to have a strong performance against Sarnia to move up in the standings.

Power Ranking – 2016 Season Kick Off

2016 POWER RANKINGS
– NUCLEUS EDITION.

This ranking is pure opinion and future ranks are for entertainment purposes only! Entertainment – put a smile on your face, get a reaction that is more then just a nod of the head, engage you in the workings of the league, make you want to come back for more.

It’s an overall look at the league during the season. Teams are going to rise and fall in these rankings on a weekly basis.

So enjoy the rankings –  every team believes they are a championship team! And rightly so…

WEEK 1 POWER RANKINGS

#1 GTA All Stars
***Defending National Champs***
To be the best – you have to beat the best. This team may be suffering from “Championship Hangover” as many players are still sitting at home unsigned. Regardless they have enough talent to earn top spot in the preseason.
I predict 1-0 after this week…
Prediction:
WIN GTA 28-24 over Oakville

#2 Sarnia Imperials
The Imps are back with most of last years squad plus a few key players from years past. A hungry squad that will be a team to watch in 2016. They have solid player numbers to go deep in the playoffs.
Prediction:
WIN Sarnia 35-14 over Tri City

#3 Oakville Longhorns
Yes I know they have only one win the last 3 years. But they have gotten better every year. They have a strong nucleus of talented players who keep getting better. This team has great player numbers and a solid coaching staff. I expect big things out of this years Longhorn squad.
Prediction:
LOSS Oakville 24 to GTA 28

#4 Ottawa Invaders
The Invaders have had some player turnover and their numbers are down from years past. But with TJ Williams back running the ball – the Invaders can capitalize on two strengths, their run game and a great coaching staff.
Prediction:
WIN Ottawa 24-21 over SCP

#5 Steel City Patriots
This Hamilton franchise has over 70+ registered players. They should have depth at every position. At this time – they are still an unknown. We will see the first few weeks of the season how they measure up with the top NFC teams.
Prediction
LOSS SCP 21-24 to Ottawa

#6 Sudbury Spartans
This program has improved in the standings every year since 2012. They have a majority of their team back from last season. With two of the best running backs in the league and a strong offensive line – they should have another solid season.
Prediction
BYE Week

#7 Tri City Outlaws
The Outlaws are in rebuild mode – they have a solid nucleus and mix of both old and young players. They will get stronger as the season progresses. I expect them to move up in the standings week to week.
Prediction:
LOSS Tri City 14- 35 to Sarnia

#8 Sault Steelers
This will be a rebuild season for the Steelers. They have a strong nucleus of talented vets and will be led by perennial All Star Brandon Lewis. But without player depth – they are going to have some struggles.
An influx of new players will make this years squads – heads up better than last season. They will move up in the rankings as the season progresses.
This ranking is more a look at what last year was about than what they can do this year – which is unknown.
Prediction:
BYE Week
