NFC Power Ranking Breakdown

1. GTA All Stars
Current record 7-0

GTA isn’t just winning games but absolutely destroying opponents.
Expect more of the same this week – except this time you play a team that has called you out all season long.
……………………………………………………………

2. Sarnia Imperials
Current record 5-2

Sarnia is also dominating opponents as opposed to close wins. For the 5th week in a row, they have improved their on-field play. Their offense is getting stronger each week – they are a real contender.
…………………………………………………………..

3. Steel City Patriots
Current record 7-0

Another win and this time against a stronger opponent. A win is a win and a well-deserved move up the power rankings. Big week coming up for this program. You’ve been chomping at the bit to play GTA All season long – now is your chance.

……………………………………………………………

4. Ottawa Sooners
Current record 4-3

Sloppy play and turnovers defined your last game. You want to be on fire going into the postseason… can’t blame it on injuries or anything else – every team has those same circumstances. Time to get it together.

…………………………………………………………….

5. Sudbury Spartans
Current record 3-4

The Spartans are playing decent ball going into playoffs. The offense is rolling hard and the defense is playing tough. Keep this up – and you have some momentum.
………………………………………………………….

6. Tri City Outlaws
Current record 3-4

Two tough losses in a row. Defense is playing tough while the offense is still trying to find its identity. I wouldn’t count this team out – but definitely a dark horse going into playoffs.

………………………………………………………….

7. Toronto Phantom Raiders
Current record 3-4

A blowout loss to GTA isn’t the end of the world. A promising season for the Raiders and another week to get to .500 on the year. Going to be a good game this week.

…………………………………………………………….

8. Sault Steelers
Current record 3-4

No matter how you evaluate the season – the Steelers return has been successful. You got the program back up and running and you won some games – kudos to you.

………………………………………………………….

9. Oakville Longhorns
Current record 0-7

This team is taking blows on and off the field BUT they still show up to play each weekend. Give yourselves a pat on the back for getting thru this trying season.

………………………………………………………….

10. North Bay Bulldogs
Current record 0-7

Keep your heads up – you’ve done yourselves proud. Each and every week you have taken the field and given your all. If this young group can stick together for a few seasons – they will be a force to be reckoned with.

NFC Power Ranking Breakdown

1. GTA All Stars
Current record 6-0

GTA is running the table. The tough part of their schedule was early on. They have their sights set on week 8 – when they will battle SCP. And rumor is they are keeping close tabs on Fort McMurray in the AFL.
……………………………………………………………

2. Ottawa Sooners
Current record 4-2

Ottawa is gearing up for a deep playoff run. The Sooners are proving to be a first-class organization from the top down. Looking forward to watching this team in the playoffs. Their only losses came from
GTA. They may not want credit but it’s been well earned.
…………………………………………………………..

3. Sarnia Imperials
Current record 4-2

The offense seems to have found its momentum. Sarnia is traditionally a hot or cold team. When they lose – they like to lose big. But when they win – the same holds true. With Oakville and the Sault left on their schedule – they have essentially wrapped up the West division.
……………………………………………………………

4. Steel City Patriots
Current record 6-0

The Patriots are down to the league’s top two teams to end the season. They played well against a struggling TCO team and now they get a shot at the top of the NFC. Look for them to rely on their defense too and big playmakers to get it done.
…………………………………………………………….

5. Tri City Outlaws
Current record 3-3

It’s gut-check time for the Outlaws. The defense seems to be holding it together. And the offense has some moments where they look like they regained their 2017 form. They have two weeks left to put it all together.
……………………………………………………………

6. Sudbury Spartans
Current record 2-4

The Spartans offense is starting to roll. They need a total team effort in TCO this week to secure 2nd place in the West and a home playoff date against either OTT or SCP. Their schedule finishes in North Bay. So it’s for all the marbles this week!!!

………………………………………………………….

7. Toronto Phantom Raiders
Current record 3-3

The Raiders had a chippy affair with Sarnia this week. They have the defending Champs up next before finishing off on the road in TCO. This team comes to play each week – hats off to the team for turning the program around.

…………………………………………………………….

8. Sault Steelers
Current record 2-4

The Steelers have a serious case of road woes. They travel light and that issue is going to hamper the team from moving forward. If you can’t get your best players to travel – your always going to be a .500 team. Lots of heart and they always bring it… they just need to get everyone to the game.

………………………………………………………….

9. Oakville Longhorns
Current record 0-6

The Horns are battling it out each week – despite the fact that half of last years team is playing with SCP. They understand the rebuilding process and they are committed to building it again.

………………………………………………………….

10. North Bay Bulldogs
Current record 0-6

The Dogs are taking their licks each week. They are rebuilding the program with youth and a core group that will be around for several years. Every week is a learning experience.

NFC Power Ranking Breakdown

1. GTA All Stars
Current record 5-0

Another week – another blowout win. This time the All Stars traveled light to Sudbury – even leaving their coaches behind. Didn’t matter – they found the field and took care of business.
……………………………………………………………

2. Ottawa Sooners
Current record 3-2

A less than impressive win over the Raiders but a win is a win. Looking for a little more offense out of this crew. In two weeks we get to see how they play against SCP – that’s a matchup worth watching.
…………………………………………………………..

3. Sarnia Imperials
Current record 3-2

The Imps rolled over North Bay on the weekend. The offense is still moving the ball well. Next up the Raiders where we can see how serious they are about making a run.
……………………………………………………………

4. Steel City Patriots
Current record 5-0

The Patriots destroyed the Sault -an opponent that TCO struggled with early in the season. That warrants a move up in the rankings. Next up is Tri-City, then Ottawa before a season-ending contest against GTA. Going to be an interesting few weeks for the Patriots.
…………………………………………………………….

5. Tri City Outlaws
Current record 3-2

The Outlaws offense got rolling in Oakville. That’s a good sign for them. The drop in rankings isn’t a hit on them as much as kudos to SCP for their victory over the Sault. A big game this week with SCP.
……………………………………………………………

6. Toronto Phantom Raiders
Current record 3-2

The Raiders held tough in Ottawa against a very strong Sooner team. The next 3 games are going to be tough – Sarnia, GTA and TCO. This team could surprise one or two over the last few weeks.

………………………………………………………….

7. Sault Steelers
Current record 2-3

The Steelers were crushed at home against a very strong Patriots team. Now they travel down the road for a rematch with Sudbury. This will be a very important game for them.

…………………………………………………………….

8. Oakville Longhorns
Current record 0-5

The Horns hung tough with TCO. They scored some points and as expected they aren’t rolling over for anyone. Expect more of the same over the next few weeks.

………………………………………………………….

9. Sudbury Spartans
Current record 1-4

This has been a disappointing season for the Spartans. GTA overpowered them this weekend. Now they have some winnable games to end off the campaign – Sault, TCO and North Bay.

………………………………………………………….

10. North Bay Bulldogs
Current record 0-5

They put up some points against Sarnia. They are hanging tough every week. It’s all about building for the future in North Bay.

Power Ranking 2018 – Week 5

NFC Week 5 Power Rankings

Back on NFCfootball.ca are the Power Rankings done by our NFC Insider. You, the fans, have asked that the Power Rankings which we had exclusive to social media be reinstated to the site. We heard your request and moving forward they will be published here too.

1. GTA All-Stars
2. Ottawa Sooners
3. Sarnia Imperials
4. Tri-City Outlaws
5. Steel City Patriots
6. Toronto Phantom Raiders
7. Sault Steelers
8. Oakville Longhorns
9. Sudbury Spartans
10. North Bay Bulldogs

NFC Power Ranking Breakdown

1. GTA All-Stars
Current record 4-0

The tough part of their schedule is over – they can shift to cruise control until playoffs. The only thing they have to remember is to show up to the games and put their 12 guys on the field. They will run the table – again.
……………………………………………………………

2. Ottawa Sooners
Current record 2-2

Ottawa needs to focus on one thing – playoffs and GTA. They need to vastly improve to make a run at a Championship. Let’s wait and see how the next few weeks work out for them.
…………………………………………………………..

3. Sarnia Imperials
Current record 2-2

The Imp rolled over Tri City this week and looks like they finally got their offense moving. If they have hopes of making a deep playoff run – they are going to need to keep getting better each and every week.
……………………………………………………………

4. Tri City Outlaws
Current record 2-2

The Outlaws have lost two in a row. Both were teams ranked higher than them. They need to get their offense going or things will unravel quickly.
…………………………………………………………….

5. Steel City Patriots
Current record 4-0

These are power rankings not standings. This Patriot team will go 5-0 before they face a higher ranked opponent. That’s the schedule they were given. Unfortunately, you don’t move up hanging 62 points on North Bay – even 9th ranked Sudbury hung 62 on the Bay. You move up by playing higher ranked opponents. You will get your opportunity the last 3 weeks of the season. Patience, patience….
……………………………………………………………

6. Toronto Phantom Raiders
Current record 3-1

The Raiders won a tough one against a hungry Longhorn squad. A much improved team over the past few seasons. Kudos for turning the program around. Now you have 4 tough opponents in a row.
………………………………………………………….

7. Sault Steelers
Current record 2-2

They have essentially won the North after taking care of North Bay and Sudbury back to back. Excellent season after taking a leave of absence. More good things to come from this program and staring at .500+ season.
…………………………………………………………….

8. Oakville Longhorns
Current record 0-4

The Horns stuck around with a much improved Raider team for 4 quarters. That type of effort moves you up in the rankings. Oakville will improve each week.
………………………………………………………….

9. Sudbury Spartans
Current record 1-3

Looks like offensive woes are hurting the Spartans every week. It’s going to be a long season if things don’t change quickly. Now the three-time defending Champs are rolling into town. Keep your chins up and working on it.
………………………………………………………….

10. North Bay Bulldogs
Current record 0-4

The wheels have fallen off the Bulldog bus. Each week has its own challenges. Most importantly is building for the future – using each game as a learning experience.

Power Ranking – 2016 Week 10

NFC Insider – Power Rankings Week – 10

Playoffs are around the corner.
Sarnia can firm up 1st overall with a victory over Sudbury and guarantee that the road to the NFC title goes thru Sarnia.

GTA needs to beat the Sault in the Sault to finish first in the East.

The dust hasn’t settled but the following match ups are already confirmed.

Quarter final Matchups
Hamilton at Tri City
Oakville at Sarnia
Sault at GTA/Ottawa
Sudbury at Ottawa/GTA

Week 10 Power Rankings

#1 Sarnia Imperials (6-1)
The Imps were off this week relishing in their overtime victory versus GTA a week ago. The party should be over by now – time to get back to work. They have a shot to finish first overall but need to take care of business in Sudbury this week.
Week 9
BYE Week

#2 GTA All Stars (5-2)
Something just isn’t right with the defending National Champs. I can’t put my finger on it but they have some work to do if they are gonna repeat in the NFC. This is going to be an interesting playoff scenario. Still a great team but missing that dominance they had last year.
Week 9
WIN 21-10 over Ottawa

#3 Ottawa Invaders (6-2)
Well boys – after the dust has settled on your regular season. You’re still a respectable 6-2. Now get ready for playoffs and prove your claims to be number 1 in the NFC. It doesn’t take a genius to see that you’re going to have to go thru GTA in the semi’s. Best of luck!!! Excellent defensive effort versus GTA this weekend.
Week 9
LOSS 21-10 to GTA

#4 Tri City Outlaws (4-4)
Congrats on the road win in Hamilton – clinched you a first round playoff home game. Well done! All year long – I’ve said that the Outlaws are a tough football team. Looks like you are peaking right in time for playoffs. And you will see Hamilton first round.
Week 9
WIN 21-14 versus Hamilton

#5 Steel City Patriots (4-4)
Well playoffs are up next for you and a road game to Tri City in two weeks.
Maybe you underestimated them? Or maybe they simply played a tougher game? Going to be a great quarter final.
Week 9
LOSS 21-14 to Tri City

#6 Sudbury Spartans (3-4)
Kept the perfect record at home going with a dominant performance over the Sault. One more home game versus top ranked Sarnia this week. This will be a good measuring stick for how far your program has come the past few years.
Week 9
WIN 33-8 over Sault

#7 Sault Steelers (1-6)
Tough road loss with a short bench. It doesn’t help that your QB got tossed early in the game. Becomes a war of attrition and with your short bench – not gonna win many of those contests.
Week 9
LOSS 33-8 to Sudbury

#8 Oakville Longhorns (1-7)
Another tough year on the field. Playoffs are around the corner and matchup with Sarnia in Sarnia. It’s playoffs time for you and anything can happen.
