National title returns to the Sault

To say the Sault Ste. Marie Steelers made a statement in their march to the N.F.C. and C.M.F.L. titles would be an understatement!

The Steelers returned the Sid Forster Memorial Trophy to Ontario with a thorough 65-6 decision over the Edmonton Stallions. This is the second national crown for the Steelers in three years and their second over the Stallions as well.

The Steelers certainly were a focused lot for the majority of the 2009 campaign as they dropped only one game and outscored their playoff opponents by a 206 - 24 margin.

Kudos are also due to the Steeler organization who had an estimated 4,500 fans in attendance and had several activities around the game to make it an event to remember.

Congratulations to Don McBain, Barry Rushon and all those who assisted in showing how to put on a show.
