Some long standing Northern Football Conference records could be altered after action on July 24th.

Sault Steeler Josh Gauthier is closing in on several league marks that have stood for a while.

Heading in to the Steelers contest versus the Toronto Maddogs at Birhchmount Stadium in Scarborough, Gauthier has a chance to better the following:

Rushing Touchdowns in a Season

Current Record

Butch Pelletier 17 North Bay Ti Cats in 1965

Gauthier currently stands at 16

Total Yards in a Season

Current Record

Andrew Wells 1525 Hamilton Wildcats in 1995

Gauthier currently stands at 1488

Total Touchdowns in a Season

Dan McAlonan 25 Hamilton Wildcats in 1995

Gauthier currently stands at 22

Points in a Season

Andrew Wells 162 Hamilton Wildcats in 1995

Gauthier currently stands at 132

The last mark may be a ways off, but, given how Josh has been scoring, that mark may fall sooner than later with 3 games remaining in the regular season. The Maddogs defence will undoubtably not give Josh a warm reception this evening!
